India
all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja put up a brilliant all-round performance in the first
Test, scoring 175 not out and taking nine wickets in the match. In the second
Test, which is a day/night fixture, Jadeja will be playing his 59th Test, and
he needs just nine wickets to complete 250 wickets in Test cricket. If Jadeja
manages to take nine or more wickets against Sri Lanka in the day-night Test at
the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, he will become the third quickest Indian to reach this
landmark after Ravichandran Ashwin and Anil Kumble.

In
the first Test, Jadeja’s stellar performance helped India beat Sri Lanka by an
innings and 222 runs and take 1-0 lead in the series.

After
smashing an unbeaten 175 in the first innings, Jadeja took a fifer in Sri
Lanka’s first innings and four more in the second. Due to his outstanding
performance, Jadeja became the No. 1 all-rounder in the ICC Test All-Rounder
rankings, surpassing West Indies’ Jason Holder.

Meanwhile,
Axar Patel, who replaced Kuldeep Yadav in the Indian squad for the second Test,
needs six wickets to reach the individual milestone of 100 wickets in
international cricket. Axar Patel took 36 wickets in Test, 45 in ODIs and 13 in
T20Is.

If
Axar Patel replaces Jayant Yadav in the Indian team for the second Test, having
impressed massively in his previous Test appearances, he would definitely have
a chance to taste the feat.

Rohit
Sharma, who is leading India in the Test series as a full-time captain, will
look to clinch the series 2-0 in Bengaluru. In the first Test, India won by an
innings and 222 runs.

India
have never lost a home Test against Sri Lanka and will look to maintain that
record and pull off a clean sweep. The hosts also enjoy a 100 per cent record
in home day-night Tests, having won both of their previous pink-ball Tests,
against Bangladesh and England, respectively.
