The Indian cricket team will begin their campaign against West Indies on July 22. They are scheduled to play three ODI matches, followed by five T20I matches against the Windies. A number of senior players, including captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah have been rested from the ODI series.

However, India have announced a comparatively youthful side, with youngsters such as Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ishan Kishan and others set to face the Windies under the leadership of Shikhar Dhawan. Dhawan, who is the stand-in captain in the absence of regular skipper Rohit Sharma, will lead the team in his second series, first of which was against Sri Lanka.
