The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) completed an emphatic 37-run win over the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to secure fourth spot in the Indian Premier League points table.

Virat Kohli turned on the style against as his unbeaten 90 from 52 balls helped RCB post a 169-run total.

CSK are in dire straits with five losses in seven matches after another botched run-chase leaves them at sixth in the points table.

They will need a near-miraculous run of form over the remaining seven matches for any hopes of qualifying for the play-offs.

Kohli was adjudged man-of-the-match for his brilliant knock and he continued his purple streak with the bat. He had earlier smashed a 53-ball 72 against Rajasthan Royals and followed it up with a lone-warrior’s innings in Bangalore’s 59-run loss to Delhi Capitals, scoring 43 from 39 deliveries.
