Shikhar Dhawan’s maiden IPL hundred helped guide the Delhi Capitals to a five-wicket win over the Chennai Super Kings on Saturday.

His efforts lift Delhi to the top of the table, who have now won seven out of nine matches so far.

Earlier, Ambati Rayudu and Ravindra Jadeja added 50 runs for the fifth wicket as Chennai finished with a commanding 179-run total against the Capitals.

Delhi’s South African pace duo Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje conceded 32 runs from the last two overs as Chennai finished with an above-par score on a slow Sharjah surface.

Faf du Plessis continued his fine form at the top of the CSK batting order with his third fifty this season, scoring 58 runs in 47 balls.
