Rajasthan Royals, under the able hands of Kumar Sangakkara and
Head Coach Andrew McDonald, will look to recreate their success from the initial
IPL season. Despite having a strong start in IPL 2020, the team eventually
lagged behind and missed out on the semi-finals, resulting in them going instead
for a substantial revamp ahead of this year’s competition.

Going into the auction, the team has a purse of Rs 37 crore and a total of nine
slots available, including three overseas slots. They possibly will be going
for a suitable replacement of Steve Smith, the erstwhile captain of the squad.

With big, impactful names such as Sanju Samson, Joss Butler,
Ben Stokes in batting and Jofra Archer headlining their pace attack, the team
seemingly will need a dependable name in the middle order, which is what they
will be expectedly going for.

The team saw solid performances from Rahul Tewatia and
Joffra Archer respectively for economical leg-spin and pace attack. While
Archer won the Purple cap for the season, Tewatia helped with the bat as well.
Big hitters like Ben Stokes too assisted the squad, as he ended his IPL journey
with a high score of 107 not out and a strike rate of 142.50, which, with a
little more assistance, arguably could fire the Royals into the playoffs.
