The Royal Challengers Bangalore beat the Kolkata Knight Riders by 39 runs to register their third consecutive victory of IPL 2021. The match is being played at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium, a venue where RCB had won their previous two encounters of IPL 2021.
After electing to bat first, RCB put up a mammoth 204 on the board. Glenn Maxwell scored 78 off 49-balls, while AB de Villiers scored a 34-ball 76 to take RCB past 200.

RCB scored 56 runs in the last three overs, including 21 in the final six deliveries, to set KKR a stiff target after electing to bat.
Earlier, Kolkata captain Dinesh Karthik’s decisions to start with spin from both ends paid off, as Varun Chakravarthy picked two wickets in his first over against the RCB. Varun Chakravarthy sent back Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar in the 2nd over of the innings.
