The Royal Challengers Bangalore needed a favour from the Mumbai Indians to make it to the last four of IPL 2022. Rohit Sharma and co defeated the Delhi Capitals in their last game, to make sure the 2016 finalists remained on the fourth rung of the points table.

Now, Faf du Plessis and co face the Lucknow Super Giants in the Eliminator at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata on Wednesday.

Probably the biggest good news in the RCB camp is former skipper Virat Kohli finally finding his rhythm. The 33-year-old, after a string of low scores and a lone fifty this season, made a 54-ball 73 in their last match against Gujarat Titans. The innings saw the ‘King’ play all his exquisite shots.

RCB already had a few players firing in Dinesh Karthik, Josh Hazlewood, Wanindu Hasaranga and Harshal Patel. Skipper Faf du Plessis has looked good in patches.

The Lucknow Super Giants, on the other hand, dominated the points table throughout the season. They finished third with nine wins and five losses.

LSG have seen experienced duo of Jason Holder and Dushmanta Chameera perform inconsistently. Quinton de Kock on the other hand is in some form.

The likes of Marcus Stoinis, Krunal Pandya, Ayush Badoni and Holder have failed to impress and it’s high time that they get into their acts in a virtual quarter-final.
