MS Dhoni on Sunday affected an acrobatic run out to dismiss Punjab Kings‘ Bhanuka Rajapaksha. The Chennai Super Kings managed to contain Mayank Agarwal and co to 72/2 in the powerplay at the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai

Former CSK captain Dhoni ran out the Sri Lankan on the second ball of the second over. Rajapaksha nudged Chris Jordan towards long-on, left of the bowler. He wanted a run. But Shikhar Dhawan on the other end was not interested. In a mix up, the batsman missed the non-striker’s call. And in the meantime, Jordan collected the ball and threw it towards the striker’s end. Dhoni, who was quite far from the stumps, sprinted, anticipated the bounce and pushed the ball, mid air, towards the stumps. The umpire went upstairs but Dhoni and CSK knew than Rajapaksha was short by some margin.
