Eliminated and frustrated by a
disastrous campaign in IPL 2022, Mumbai Indians have sought the services of
pacer Dhawal Kulkarni, who is expected to play the remaining matches of the
Mumbai side depending on how he bowls at the training sessions.

According to PTI, the 33-year-old right-arm
medium-fast bowler has already joined the Mumbai Indians bio buddle and will
soon start training.

Before the Mumbai Indians call-up,
Kulkarni was working as a commentator with the official broadcaster of IPL.

This season, pace spearhead Jasprit
Bumrah
has already 229 runs from eight matches and has managed to take just
five wickets. The other pacers have also struggled badly this season.

The performances of left-arm pacers
Jaydev Unadkat (six wickets and 190 runs conceded from five matches) and Daniel
Sams (six wickets and 209 runs conceded from five matches) have been pretty
ordinary.

Unadkat was taken to the cleaners by
legendary Mahendra Singh Dhoni in the game against Chennai Super Kings when he
failed to defend 17 runs. Pacers Tymal Mills (six wickets and 190 runs conceded
from five matches) and Basil Thampi (five wickets and 152 runs conceded from
five matches) haven’t also put in exceptional performances.

The five-time champions also used Riley
Meredith in two matches, but he conceded 65 runs and took just three wickets. A
Mumbai Ranji Trophy regular, Kulkarni also has experience in playing the IPL.
He has featured in 92 matches and taken 86 wickets after making his debut, way
back in 2008.

Royals and he has also played quite a number of games for Mumbai Indians and
also for now-defunct Gujarat Lions. Mumbai Indians are already out of the race
for the play-offs after losing eight games on the trot.
