The Delhi Capitals were knocked out of IPL 2022 with the Mumbai Indians winning the game by five wickets at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on Saturday. The Royal Challengers Bangalore, on the other hand, became the fourth side to qualify for the playoffs.
The other three are – Lucknow Super Giants, Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals.

Chasing 160 runs, Mumbai lost skipper Rohit Sharma early. He scored two runs in 13 balls. Ishan Kishan and Dewald Brevis then stitched a 51-run partnership. The former top-scored for Mumbai with 48 runs off 35 balls while the latter made a 33-ball 37. However, it was hard-hitter Tim David’s whirlwind 34 runs off 11 balls that changed the course of the match in the favour of the Mumbai Indians.
Shardul Thakur was the pick of the Delhi Capitals bowlers. He picked two wickets for 32 runs.

After being put to bat first, DC were hit by the Bumrah storm. The MI pacer picked three key wickets for 25 runs. Ramandeep Singh got two, Mayank Markande and Daniel Sams finished with one wicket each.
DC were in a spot of bother at 50 for 4 before skipper Rishabh Pant (39) and Rovman Powell (43) joined hands and shared 75 runs for the fifth wicket to rescue the batting side.
Talking about the game and season, MI skipper Rohit Sharma said that the team performed well in the second half.

“We were here to win the game. I know few teams were watching us closely, but we wanted to finish on a high. We’ll try to correct the mistakes next season. It was tough after losing eight games, so we needed to rectify the mistakes. But I think we performed well in the second half of the season,” he said.
