Prasidh Krishna made a rocket throw on his Rajasthan Royals teammate Trent Boult’s ankle in the powerplay vs Kolkata Knight Riders at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on Thursday. As the ball hit the Kiwi pacer, he took an evasive action and the deflection towards square leg meant Baba Indrajith earnt an extra run.

The incident occured on the first ball of the third over. Trent Boult delivered full from around off, which was knocked straight to mid-on by Baba Indrajith. The batters ran. Prasidh Krishna collected the ball and aimed for a direct hit at the batting end but ended up slamming his Kiwi teammate’s boot.

Boult got up with a smile and went to bowl the next delivery.

“If that was Bhuvi Kumar instead of Trent Boult, he would be out for 6 months,” another one tweeted.

Meanwhile, Kolkata Knight Riders restricted Rajasthan Royals to a modest 152 for five, despite rival skipper Sanju Samson’s half-century. 

The RR skipper’s 54 off 49 balls was the only saving grace, as wickets tumbled at regular intervals. A late onslaught by Shimron Hetymar (27 not out off 13 balls) took Rajasthan beyond the 150-run mark.

Tim Southee (2/46) scalped two wickets, while Umesh Yadav (1/24), Anukul Roy (1/28) and Shivam Mavi (1/33) accounted for one each.
