Arjun Tendulkar has been a part of the Mumbai Indians since 2021, when he was roped in for his base price of Rs 20 lakh. The 22-year-old was bought back by the five-champions for Rs 30 lakh. However, the pacer, cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar’s son, is yet to make his IPL debut.
Throwing light on whether Tendulkar will make his MI debut in their next fixture vs the Gujarat Titans, head coach Mahela Jayawardene said that it will all depend on match-ups.

“Well, I think everyone is the squad is an option. We will see how things go. It is about match-ups and how we can win the matches and our priority is to make sure that we get the right match-ups. Every game is a confidence thing, we managed to get our first win and it is about stringing wins together and get the confidence back. It is about putting the best guys in the park. If Arjun is one of them, then we will consider it, yes, but it all depends on the combination that we put out,” Jayawardene said in a virtual press conference.
Arjun Tendulkar getting a spot only makes sense. Especially when the team is not in the playoffs race. He was ruled out of IPL last year midway due to an injury and has not played competitive cricket since January 2021.

He had made his Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy deut last year. In two T20 matches, the pacer has picked two wickets, 1/33 being his best figures.

Who will Arjun Tendulkar replace?
While Kumar Kartikeya and Hrithik Shokeen have done well in IPL 2022 so far, Tendulkar could come in for one of them.
The team would want to give one-match old Kartikeya more chances, hence Shokeen could be replaced.
