Just after the ICC men’s T20 cricket World Cup concluded on November 13, 2020, 10 Indian Premiere League franchise announced their retention lists to the Board of Cricket Council in India (BCCI). This action comes ahead of the mini-auction for IPL 2023 on December 23 in Kochi.
Kolkata Knight Riders released Australian ODI Pat Cummings and English batter Sam Billings. Both the players decided to skip IPL 2023.
Sunrisers Hyderabad has the largest purse value, standing at Rs. 42.25 crore. The franchise has the released 12 players.
On the other hand, Kolkata Knight Riders will head into the auction with the least purse value of Rs 7.05 crore.
There is no restriction as to how many players should be retained or released.
