Joe Buttler, who scored 35 runs off 28 balls in Rajasthan Royals‘ win against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, said that he sees a bright future for the 2008 champions. Sanju Samson and company defeated Kane Williamson’s side by 61 runs runs at the MCA Stadium, Pune on Tuesday.

Against SRH, Sanju Samson led the team with a 27-ball 55, Devdutt Padikkal made 41 runs in 29 balls, Prasidh Krishna dismissed two batsmen and Yuzvendra Chahal picked three wickets. 

Praising the performances after the match, Buttler said that the team plans to play an expressive brand of cricket.

“It’s a fantastic start. We are delighted with our first win in the bouts with excellent team performance and great contributions. We want to play an expressive brand of cricket and play the situation in front of them,” the wicket-keeper batsman said during the post-match press conference.

“We have got a great core of Indian players. A lot of experience is there in the spin department, especially with Ashwin and Chahal. The fast bowlers are great. Prasidh Krishna bowled fantastic today and Saini is also doing great, so some bright future is there,” he added.

The 31-year-old praised SRH’s Bhuvneshwar Kumar, saying batting against him is hard work. The swing bowler was the purple cap winner in the 2016 and 2017 seasons of IPL. He picked one wicket against Rajasthan and is seven shy of reaching the 150-wicket mark in the IPL. 

“I found it hard work. He (Bhuvneshwar Kumar) is a fantastic swing bowler. I haven’t batted for a while actually and then picked a finger injury but luckily had a good start over here. I have been working really hard in the nets and have been trying to find my rhythm,” the Englishman said.
