He got the party started right away, stepping off the vehicles and enthusiastically pouring champagne onto the jubilant audience. His elegant accessories, sunglasses and a hat, gradually became more confusing as the day went and the cocktails continued to flow.

The video capturing the incident instantly went viral, exposing Mike Malone, the Denver Nuggets coach, indulging in celebration cocktails during the team’s title parade. The Denver Nuggets won the NBA championship for the first time in team history on a historic occasion. The squad defeated the Miami Heat with a 94-89 score, winning the best-of-seven series 4-1 and capturing the NBA Finals title.

Nikola Jokic, the Nuggets’ center, was instrumental in the championship game, putting up a game-high 28 points and 16 rebounds. 

On Thursday, the party was in full swing in Denver, with unforgettable scenes like Kentavious Caldwell-Pope drinking Stone Cold beers on a bus and Michael Malone becoming the most enthusiastic coach in recent championship parade history. While there have been notable contenders in the past, such as Mike Budenholzer in 2021 and Sean McVay during the Rams parade, Malone’s enthusiasm took him to a different level entirely.

In a fun moment during an interview with Denver’s TV affiliate, Michael Malone referred to himself as “Mikey Malone.” This remark is remarkable given his past reaction to being addressed as Mike rather than Michael by a sideline reporter. 

Michael Malone completely embraced the festive spirit during the championship rally, delivering a passionate speech to the fans. In his drunken state, he claimed vehemently that “Brucey B,” most likely referring to a member of the squad or coaching staff, will continue with the Nuggets because Denver is committed to duplicating its success.
