Keylor Navas, the goalkeeper for Paris Saint Germain has found his life difficult in Paris for the last year. This is because of the fact that Gianluigi Donnarumma, the current number-1 goalkeeper for the club has held that position firmly since his arrival to the team last season.
To make matter worse for the Costa Rican player, newly appointed coach Christophe Galtier has made it a clear point that Donnarumma will be the starting Gk. This has pushed the 35-year-old Navas to the sidelines, as a second goalkeeper.

Keylor Navas enjoyed a very successful time at Real Madrid where he won a number of trophies including the treble of Champion League trophies from 2015 to 2018 among others. But with the arrival of Thibaut Courtois from Chelsea in 2019 and increasing age a factor to play in with, Real Madrid transferred Navas to Paris Saint Germain. He signed a four-year deal subsequently with the Parisian club.
Where does Navas go from here?
1) PSG:
To remain with PSG does not seem ideal for Keylor Navas, who although is at an advanced stage of his career, is seeking more playing time. Head Coach Christophe Galtier has already confirmed that Navas will play second fiddle to Donnanrumma. It will be interesting to see if Navas chooses to stay in Paris where he has a better chance of winning titles but may not get the desired playing time that he wants.

2) Italy:
Earlier last week, the Italian website, Foot Mercato reported that Serie A club, Napoli has offered to take the services of Navas. They have two options to do that: the first is a straight loan deal to make Navas the new number 1 goalkeeper in Napoli, while the second is through contract termination. This would involve PSG terminating Navas’s current contract and Napoli has offered to give the player a new three-year deal worth a net annual salary of €4.5m plus bonuses.
3) England:
A new entrant has been named in the Navas transfer saga as EPL club West Ham United also wants to secure the service of the 35-year-old goalkeeper. They have offered a higher salary to Navas, according to a report by an Italian publication named, Repubblica. The terms of the deal, however, are yet unknown. West Ham’s current number-1 goalkeeper, Lukacz Fabianski is out of the deal next summer, and secondary GK, Alphonso Areola signed a permanent deal with the club this summer after spending last year with the team on a loan deal from PSG. But this will be highly improbable as Navas is not likely to fancy his chances of leaving PSG to move to a London team who have already made their future decided with Areola in the goalkeeper position.
