Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts‘s parents Averion and Pamela Hurts were in the NRG Stadium in Houston to watch their son’s game against the Houston Texans on Thursday Night. 

The young QB has played great so far in the match, completing 16 out of his 21 passes for 200 yards while also throwing for a touchdown. His team leads 21-17 after the end of the third quarter. 

Pamela posted three photos and a video of the player on her Twitter handle.

In the video, Hurts is seen throwing the ball during the pre-game warm-ups.

During an interview with Daniel Gotera of Khou TV, Averion told that he would be attending today’s game.

The Philly QB was born on August 7, 1998 in Houston, Texas and attended Channelview High School in the same city where his father, Averion is a football coach while his mother, Pamela is the Chief of the Special Services Department at Channelview and teaches math and physical education.

He rushed for 1,391 yards and 25 touchdowns as a senior while also passing for 2,384 yards and 26 touchdowns. During his high school playing career, Hurts was a second-team all-district selection as a sophomore and was named the District 21-6A Overall MVP.

Hurts committed to playing for the University of Alabama in college. During his two years playing for the Alabama Crimson Tide, he recorded 40 passing touchdowns in 4860 passing yards. He also ran with football for 1809 rushing yards for 21 rushing touchdowns. 

He transferred to Oklahoma University for his last year of eligibility where he was placed second in the Heisman trophy behind Joe Burrow of LSU after registering a total of 62 touchdowns (32 passing and 20 rushings) with only eight interceptions. 

Hurts was chosen by the Philadelphia Eagles with the 53rd overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
