San Francisco struggled for the entire game. They lost starting quarterback Brock Purdy in the first half to an elbow injury. Josh Johnson, who replaced him, was concussed in the third quarter. The team also tried star running back Christian McCaffrey in the quarterback position.

However, Purdy soon returned. McCaffrey broke three tackles on a 23-yard touchdown run that made it 7-7 in the second quarter. However, the Eagles just ran away with the game after that.
