Jalen Hurts ran for one of Philadelphia’s four rushing touchdowns on Sunday. Running back Miles Sanders ran for two TDs. The Eagles last won the Super Bowl five years ago.
“Obviously this is something you dream about as a kid. All these guys on the team have dreamt about this their entire lives, too,” head coach Sirianni said.
“Just to be able to do this together with a bunch of men that love each other, that are connected to each other, that will do anything for each other is pretty sweet.”
San Francisco struggled for the entire game. They lost starting quarterback Brock Purdy in the first half to an elbow injury. Josh Johnson, who replaced him, was concussed in the third quarter. The team also tried star running back Christian McCaffrey in the quarterback position.
However, Purdy soon returned. McCaffrey broke three tackles on a 23-yard touchdown run that made it 7-7 in the second quarter. However, the Eagles just ran away with the game after that.
“It’s been a lot. I’m not going to make this about me,” Hurts said. “This city is a special city. They deserve everything, It’s a special city. We have one more.”
