Jalen Ramsey, a cornerback and three-time first-team All-Pro, was traded by the Los Angeles Rams to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.

After the deal, the Dolphins reportedly secured Ramsey’s contract for the next two years. According to reports, Ramsey also received a further $25 million guaranteed as part of the deal, as well as an average of $20 million over the final two years.

Jalen Ramsey college:

Ramsey spent his freshman year at Nashville, Tennessee’s Ensworth High School. Afterward, he changed schools and joined Brentwood Academy in Brentwood, Tennessee, where he excelled in both football and track & field.

In order to play college football, he initially enrolled at the University of Southern California (USC), but then switched to Florida State University.

Jalen Ramsey contracts: 

Ramsey was predicted to be selected in the first round of the NFL Draft after graduating from Florida State. He was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars as the fifth overall choice in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

Ramsey signed a four-year, $23.35 million contract with the Jaguars on May 22, 2016, which included a signing bonus of $15.18 million and a $22.90 million guarantee.

In exchange for a 2020 first-round pick, a 2021 first-round pick, and a 2021 fourth-round pick, Ramsey was traded to the Los Angeles Rams on October 15, 2019. Ramsey and the Rams agreed to a five-year, $105 million agreement in September of that same year, with $71.2 million of that amount guaranteed. He became the highest-paid defensive back in NFL history thanks to the contract.

He was ranked 13th on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2021 list by his fellow players in 2020.

Jalen had four interceptions, 18 passes defended, 12 pass breakups, three forced fumbles, and two sacks at the end of the recent season.

In seven seasons, Ramsey has 19 interceptions, 7 forced fumbles, 2 sacks, and 7 interceptions. Moreover, in the seasons of 2017, 20, and 21, he was named to the first team of All-Pros.

Ramsey’s NFL career will be 8 years old in 2023, and he is expected to make a good living with the possibility of even greater earnings in the future.

This year, he will receive a base pay of $17,000,000, which is a 100% increase over last year.
