James Cook, brother of Minnesota Vikings‘ Dalvin Cook, was extensively used during the first half of the Buffalo Bills‘ Week 13 game against the New England Patriots. The Thursday Night Football tie took place at Gillette Stadium. 

Cook had 44% of the Bills’ first-half snaps with eight carries. The running back received three targets for 80 yards. An experienced Nyheim Hines, on the other hand, had 42% snaps, two carries and two targets for 18 yards. Devin Singletary was at 37% snaps, five carries and one target for 21 yards.

Cook was averaging 6.3 yards per carry and 10 yards per catch in the first half of the Thursday game. His team leads the game 17-7 at the end of the first half.

Hines was acquired by the Bills after Week 8. He has played four games for his new franchise and has 2 rushing attempts for -5 yards in four games.

As for Cook, he is second in his team’s rushing category for the  Rbs.

How does James Cook’s NFL Career compare to his brother, Dalvin:

Dalvin Cook is the older brother of James Cook. Both brothers play the running back position. Similarly both of them were selected in the second round of their respective draft classes.

Dalvin, after being drafted by the Vikings, is in his sixth season. He has been selected to three Pro Bowls (2019,2022 and 2021) while being a two-time First Team All-Pro player (2019 and 2020). The 27-year has played 67 games, starting 66, recording 5,661 rushing yards and 45 Tds along with four receiving Tds in 1,659 yards up until now in his career.

James, on the other hand, is in his first season in the league, playing 11 games. He has 259 yards in running the football in 46 carry attempts while also scoring a single Td during this time. He also has nine receptions in 18 targets for 118 yards.
