The alarming incident unfolded after a fourth-down quarterback sneak, where Pickett absorbed a massive hit, resulting in the loss of his helmet. The quarterback remained on the ground, prompting immediate attention from trainers who rushed onto the field to assess the situation.
Although Pickett did not immediately get up after the play, he was eventually assisted to the sideline without entering the medical tent. Surprisingly, the Steelers quarterback didn’t miss any game time, rejoining the action immediately after stepping off the field. The team did not officially mention an injury, suggesting that the medical staff deemed further evaluation unnecessary.
Given Pickett’s history with head injuries, the situation raises concerns for Pittsburgh. In the previous season, the quarterback faced two concussions, adding an element of caution to any head-related incidents. Notably, during one of the concussions in 2022, Pickett initially returned to the game but later exited after experiencing concussion-like symptoms.
