It happened in the eighth over of the game, when Najmul Hossain Shanto played to deep mid wicket off a delivery of Ravichandran Ashwin. On the other hand KL Rahul ran from deep midwicket, threw the ball and it hit the stumps directly to send dangerous Litton Das back to the pacilion. Replays showed that Das stumbled when he turned for the second run as his spikes struggled for grip because of the wet outfield due to rain. Turns out, this was a very crucial moment as Das lost a second there, which eventually cost him his wicket.

Earlier, before rain halted the game, it was Litton Das who took Bangladesh to a very commanding position in the chase. It was because of his fifty that Bangladesh were 66/0, 17 runs ahead of DLS score.

After India bagged the wicket of Litton Das, Bangladesh never managed to stitch a stable partnership, as just one more over, Shanto lost his wicket. Shami bowled a brilliant full length bowl, which Shanto hit to long-on. Being the longest side of the boundary, he hit it straight to Suryakumar Yadav, he took the catch comfortably.
