Kyle Shanahan, head coach of the San Francisco 49ers, was trolled for stagnant offense against the Seattle Seahawks at the Lumen Field on Thursday Night. 

Some social media users said that Shanahan was refusing to explore options beyond running back Christian McCaffrey. High-rated rookie Jordan Mason received his first snap of the game with about 6:30 left in the third quarter.

San Francisco 49ers won 21-13, clinching the NFC West title. McCaffrey led them in rushing with 108 yards in 26 carries and a touchdown. Mason, who was brought into action quite late. However, he finished with 64 yards in four carries. 

In the first half of the game, quarterback Purdy kept using McCaffrey for most of his offensive moves. Social media users trolled coach Shanahan for underutilizing Mason.

“It is SO FRUSTRATING not seeing Jordan Mason get a single carry in 1st halves,” a Twitter user said. 

“Kyle Shanahan forgets how to coach every time we play Seattle,” another one tweeted.

“Kyle Shanahan is playing this game a little scared. You don’t want to let Seattle hang around. The offense needs to put up some points,” a third one tweeted. 

“@NFL I didn’t realize you idiots had a circus in town in Seattle tonight, Alex Kemp and his clowns are running rampant and showing their inability to officiate a game properly,” a third one tweeted.

Meanwhile, Purdy finished the game completing 17 of his 26 passes for 217 yards and two touchdowns. The last player to be drafted this year, Mr Irrelevant, did not throw any interceptions and helped his side clinch the division title. 

Seattle (7-7) lost for the fourth time in five games and its playoff hopes took another hit. Geno Smith threw for 238 yards and Seattle’s first offensive TD this season against the 49ers, but was under constant pressure.
