After several NBA teams boycotted their playoffs to protest the shooting of unarmed African American Jacob Blake in Wisconsin, the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers have voted against continuing the rest of the season, reported The Athletic.
According to the reports, Lakers star LeBron James, during a meeting between players, coaches and officials, said that he wants the league’s owners to be more involved and take action. The meeting was called after three playoff games had to be postponed since all the six teams refused to take the floor.
The Milwaukee Bucks started the boycott when they refused to leave their locker-room during their warm-up leading to Game five of their first-round series with the Orlando Magic. Soon after, the Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets, Lakers and Portland Trail Blazers joined in.
