NBA star LeBron James on Saturday
crashed out of the league after sustaining a right ankle injury against the
Atlanta Hawks. The injury put James out of the game for an ‘indefinite’ amount
of time, as during the match against Hawks, the Lakers small forward fell down
in the centre court after a collision with Solomon Hill of the Hawks, writhing
in pain. Returning momentarily, the 36-year-old left after a while for the
locker room, limping and throwing away a chair in frustration, AFP reported.
Reportedly, ESPN confirmed later that
the report from an MRI scan indicated a high ankle sprain, forcing him to take
an “indefinite” amount of time off the court due to the injury.

Reportedly, high ankle sprains can take
anywhere between a few weeks and several months to completely heal.
James, while not speaking to reporters
at the moment, tweeted out later that he would be back soon.
“Nothing angers and saddens me
more than not being available to and for my teammates!” James wrote.
“I’m hurt inside and out right now. The road back from recovery begins
now. Back soon like I never left”.
“It’s certainly going to be a
challenge any time you’re undermanned.

“But if you play team first
basketball and you defend at our level you’ll have a chance to win and that’ll
be our mindset”, Lakers coach Frank Vogel was quoted by AFP as saying.
The Lakers would presumably now in a
difficult situation, as alongside James, the other offensive star of the team,
Anthony Davis, too is out with an Achilles tendon problem.
The Los Angeles side clearly
struggled in the match, as Hawks player John Collins scored 27 points and 16
rebounds, leading his team to victory.
