Lionel Messi, who does not seem to be able to stop himself from creating history, is set to make another one as rumours suggest that the Argentine legend is set to become the second recipient ever of the prestigious Super Ballon d’Or award. His compatriot Alfredo Di Stefano, who represented Real Madrid, has been the only man in history to be awarded the Super Ballon d’Or, which he won in 1989.

Messi has won the highest number of Ballon d’Ors till date, seven, ahead of his eternal rival and another Real Madrid icon, Cristiano Ronaldo, who has five.
