Egyptian pro-bodybuilder ‘Big Ramy’ won Mr Olympia 2020, after
years on fan expectation, on December 19, 2020 in the Orange County Convention
Centre in Orlando, Florida.

Mamdouh Elssbiay, known more popularly as Big Ramy, fan
favourite for long to win the award, hails from Egypt and competed in seven
total Olympics, including this year’s show.

With his massive size, Ramy for the first time seemed
threatening alongside long-term veterans such as Phil Heath and Brandon Curry,
both of whom came third and second respectively.

With his 2020-win, Big Ramy has become the only athlete to
have won both Mr Olympia and People’s Champ Award.

With pro bodybuilding being about a long and intense
journey, competitors often take much longer to come to their prime than other
sports, which also leads to the age of prime athletes being much older than
mainstream sports.
