The Miami Dolphins visited the Detroit Lions in Week 8 of the 2022 NFL season on Sunday, October 30, at Ford Field. While the visitors had an underwhelming beginning, trailing 14-0 with 5:36 remaining on the clock, they looked to be making a comeback soon after, courtesy of two touchdown passes from quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

The 24-year-old returned from his horrific head injury in Week 7 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He led the team against the Lions as well, scoring two passing touchdowns to help his team against the hosts. One of Tua Tagovailoa’s passing touchdowns came towards the end of the first quarter, while the second one took place in the second.

The first touchdown pass by Tua Tagovailoa helped the Miami Dolphins to score their first points against the Lions. The quarterback found the wide receiver, Jaylen Waddle, with a short touchdown pass, who converted to make the score 14-7.

The second touchdown took place in the second quarter of the game when Tua Tagovailoa found Waddle once again to score a touchdown. It helped the Dolphins to make the score 21-14 in the initial minutes of the second quarter.

Despite his injury that forced him to be ruled out for a couple of weeks, the Dolphins quarterback has been one of the best in his position in the ongoing 2022 NFL season. He has made 17 successful passes out of 22 attempts for 253 yards, 2 passing touchdowns and recorded a passing rating of 144.7 so far in the game.

The 24-year-old has also registered 101 successful passes out of 150 attempts for 1,296 yards, 9 passing touchdowns and 3 interceptions so far this season.

The Miami Dolphins are currently in third place in the AFC East standings behind the Buffalo Bills and the New York Jets. They have registered four wins and three losses in the ongoing season.
