More than five weeks have passed since Michael Irvin was accused of engaging in inappropriate behavior at a hotel. The Pro Football Hall of Famer released the security footage from the incident during a press conference on Tuesday in an effort to clear his name.

Michael Irvin’s legal team announced on Monday that they withdrew their $100 million defamation lawsuit against Marriott Hotels in Collin County and filed it again right afterward in Arizona with additional defendants, including his accuser.

Irvin is charged with making crude and improper remarks to a female hotel employee sometime before midnight on February 5 in court paperwork that Marriott submitted. Levi McCathern, Irvin’s lawyer, thinks that the video clears his client and demonstrates that nothing obscene occurred.

The legal team for Michael Irvin held a press conference on Tuesday to provide an update on the former Cowboy’s $100 million defamation lawsuit and to release the eagerly awaited video that they claim disproves the Hall of Famer’s accusation that he harassed a woman in a Phoenix hotel lobby last month.

Irvin and his lawyers contend that the footage proves that nothing improper transpired during the former wide receiver’s brief conversation with the female hotel employee, despite the woman’s claims of violent language and forceful, unwelcome flirtation from Irvin.

“We used to say when we played football,” Irvin explained, “‘the eye in the sky don’t tell no lie.’ It’s just the truth. We can talk and tell lies, but ‘the eye in the sky don’t tell no lies.’”

The exchange in the video lasts for less than two minutes altogether and there is no supporting audio. At the start and finish of their talk, Irvin is seen shaking the woman’s hand. He did reach out and brush the woman’s arm twice, but otherwise, they are separated for the duration of their interaction.

The video also seems to show the woman making an effort to “stop” Irvin as he returned to the lobby after posing for a picture with supporters.
