The Indianapolis Colts were already having a rough time in the 2022 NFL season, as they won only one of their four games while drawing one and losing two. Their situation has now become worse, after Nyheim Hines was added to their already inflated injury list, leaving them with an even lower chance of success in the upcoming weeks.

The Indianapolis Colts were handed another shock in Week 5, when running back Nyheim Hines suffered a head injury following a hard hit in the first quarter that forced him off the field. Following the hit, Hines struggled to get up and wobbled once he did. He has since then been put on the NFL concussion protocol.

Hines has registered 8 carries for 11 yards and 17 receptions for 113 yards in the 2022 season till now.

Meanwhile, other crucial players like Michael Pittman Jr and Jonathan Taylor have also picked up injuries recently. Pittman suffered a quad injury during a practice session ahead of Week 2 and missed the game against the Jaguars, a match the Colts lost 24-0. However, he returned to the fold in Week 3 against the Kansas City Cheifs, but the damage was already done.

Pittman has registered 20 receptions out of 28 targets for 224 yards and 12 first downs in the ongoing season till now. He has also recorded 2 receptions for 3 yards for 25 yards and 2 first downs against the Broncos in the first half.

Another Colts’ running back, Jonathan Taylor, is another player who is out with an injury right now, along with Hines. The All-Pro running back suffered an ankle injury against the Tennessee Titans which forced him to be ruled out for the second game of his career, the first one since his rookie season.

With both Taylor and Hines out, the onus is on Deon Jackson and Phillip Lindsay to help the Colts but injuries to either one of them will leave them in a desperate situation.

Taylor has registered 81 carries for 328 yards, 1 touchdown and 9 receptions for 44 yards in the 2022 NFL season so far.

The Colts are also missing other key players Julian Blackmon, Shaquille Leonard and Tyquan Lewis to injuries, leaving them with a thin squad.
