Mike Hickmon, a youth football training coach, was killed in a shooting in Lancaster, Texas. Several on social media expressed their condolences.

Hickmon was the coach for the South East Dallas Wolverines. He was allegedly shot by former NFL player and North Dallas United coach Yaqub Talib, police authorities said in a press release. 

“We send our deepest thoughts and prayers to the family, friends, former teammates, and players of Coach Mike Hickmon after learning about the appalling tragedy that took place earlier this evening in Lancaster,” Texas Football life tweeted.

“Unfortunately I have a heavy 💔💔 this morning l, mourning Youth Coach Mike Hickmon, who was a great husband, father and friend. He was shot and killed yesterday at a 9U scrimmage in front of his team and his Family over PRIDE! 🚨 Youth football is now under ATTACK!!” another Twitter user said. 

“Learned through similar circles that a Dallas Coach, Mike Hickmon, was shot and killed in front of 9 year olds at a youth football scrimmage yesterday. His son witnessed this horror. People are just lost these days. RIP Coach Hickmon. God bless your dear family. 💔” a third one tweeted. 

Five shots could be heard on video clips posted on social media. An individual could be seen arguing with another one before the panic.

Local media outlets reported that Yaqub and Aqib Talib, brother, fired shots. However, no arrests have been made yet. 

“Coach Mike Hickmon, who was tragically murdered at a little league football game that took place yesterday evening in Lancaster Texas.. This violence was senseless and totally uncalled for. I’ll never understand the emotions of people. They hijacked the game from the kids,” a Twitter user said.
