Cutting his Thanksgiving cake on Friday, former heavyweight champion
Mike Tyson chose to pay homage to Evander Holyfield, whose ear he bit during a
match in 1997, New York Post reported.
Tyson cut a cake made in the image of Roy Jones Jr., his opponent in Saturday’s
exhibition match.
He sliced the ear of the cake—Roy Jones’s ear—and chomped on it, New
York Post wrote.
“Tastes so much better than Evander’s,” the former
heavyweight champion said in the YouTube video entitled “Thanksgiving with the
Tysons.”

The act was a send up to the infamous biting of Holyfield’s
ear by Tyson during a match.
“In keeping with the holiday spirit, Tyson also calls Jones ‘a
turkey’ and he later posted a photo on Instagram of the cake leftovers being
placed in a dog dish for his dog Mars,” Post reported.
Tyson is due for an exhibition match against 52 years old Roy
Jones Jr., who is a former world champion across weight categories.
Tyson is expected to be paid $10 million for this bout.
This would be his first fight since another exhibition bout
he fought against Corey Sanders in 2006, which came after his final profession match
the previous year which he lost to Kevin McBride.
