MLB side Atlanta Braves welcomed back outfielder Jorge Soler
for Game 5 of the National League Championship Series on Thursday. Soler is
returning after recovering from COVID-19.

The Braves lead the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-1 in the NLCS and
have a great shot at ending the series on Thursday itself to advance to the
World Series for the first time since 1999 if the team manages to win at the Dodger
Stadium.  Soler will be a great addition
to the bid as he had hit a combined .223 with 27 home runs and 70 RBIs with the Kansas
City Royals
and the Braves during the regular season.

“That’s a great weapon off the bench. He’s been working
out on his own, so I think he’s good to go,” the Associated Press quoted
the Braves’ manager Brian Snitker as saying.

If the Dodgers manage a win against the Braves on Thursday
and extend the series, Game six will be held on Saturday in Atlanta. And the
series can be over there too.

Soler, who is vaccinated, was pulled from the lineup for
Game four of the NL Division Series against the Milwaukee Brewers last week.
The Braves beat the Brewers 5-4 to clinch the best-of-five playoff.

Soler was part of the dramatic outfield makeover orchestrated
by general manager Alex Anthopoulos after the Braves lost Ronald Acuña Jr to a
season-ending knee injury and Marcell Ozuna to legal troubles.

Anthopoulos first acquired Joc Pederson and then added
Soler, Eddie Rosario, and Adam Duvall near the July 30 trade deadline.

On the other side, the Dodgers are turning to relief pitcher
Joe Kelly to dig them out of the hole against the Braves and try to shut them
out.

Manager Dave Roberts said the right-handed reliever will
serve as the opener of the planned bullpen game. The Dodgers trail the series
3-1 and face elimination if they lose the game.
