The Boston
Red Sox
became the first team in the Major League Baseball to hit two grand
slam home runs in a postseason game. They achieved the feat on Saturday in Game
2 of the AL Championship Series against the Houston Astros.  And to rub salt on their wound, the Astros
lost Luis Garcia to an injury.

What is
more astonishing in this was that Red Sox only needed two innings to hit two Slams.

JD Martinez
made it 4-0  and went with two outs in the first with his shot off García, who later got injured and left the game.

Rafael
Devers doubled the score with his slam that sailed just fair against Jake
Odorizzi with one out in the second after García exited with right knee
discomfort.

It’s the
fourth time in major league history, including the regular season, that a team
hit a grand slam in both the first and second innings. The Red Sox have done it
twice, also on Aug. 7, 1984.

The Los
Angeles Dodgers
did it this season on May 2, and the first team to do it was
Baltimore on May 9, 1961.

García left
Game 2 is in the second inning against the Boston Red Sox with right knee
discomfort.

The rookie
walked Kevin Plawecki leading off the second inning and was then visited on the
mound by a trainer and pitching coach Brent Strom. García walked off with a
trainer after a few minutes, and Strom motioned to the bullpen for a reliever.

The team
announced his injury later on Saturday but did not provide any details. The
Astros are already thin in their rotation after ace Lance McCullers Jr. was
left off the roster for this series because of a strained muscle in his
throwing arm.
