Los Angeles Dodgers’s pitcher Dustin May made a dominating return from injury against the Miami Marlins on Saturday as the Dodgers defeated the Marlins, 7-0.

Dustin May pitched for 5 innings, had zero earned runs, and recorded 1 hit and 9 strikeouts while retiring 13 hitters he faced during the game.

This was his first game back since he tore his UCL while throwing a pitch last year, for which he underwent Tommy John Surgery. May was signed by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the third round of the 2016 MLB draft.

After seeing his performance, Dodgers Manager Dave Roberts said,” “He struck a guy out to end the third, fourth inning with a slider and he was upset, thinking that’s the pitch that should be there all the time, And he’s his toughest critic.”

He also added,” But taking everything into account, I think that we were all pleased. I’m sure he’s going to poke holes in his outing but he was really good.”

May’s return to the team was because the pitcher Walker Buehler will undergo an elbow surgery that is likely to keep the player out for the rest of the season.

Dustin May joins a host of players in the Dodgers rotation which includes Julio Urias, Yony Gonsolin, Tyler Anderson, Andrew Heaney and the injured Clayton Kershaw.

After his performance, May took to Twitter to thank the fans on his return game. He also thanked the fans for their support.

After his performance, May said of his teammates that the team has many ‘great guys who can pick each other up’. 

This was the Dodgers’s 4th win the past 6 games. The team currently sits at the top of the National League with 83 wins and only 36 losses to their name.
