Morocco players and head coach Walid Regragui went around the Al Bayt Stadium to applaud fans after their FIFA World Cup 2022 exit. The African giants were beaten 2-0 by France in the semifinals.

Theo Hernandez and Randal Kolo Muani provided France with major breakthroughs. France have become the first defending champions to qualify for two World Cup finals in a row since Brazil did in 1998. France will now face Argentina in the final game of the Tournament on Sunday.
France are now the fifth defending champions to reach the World Cup final, joining 1938 Italy, 1962 Brazil, 1990 Argentina, and 1998 Brazil. Morocco will take on Croatia in the third-place game on Saturday.
Defender Theo Hernandez scored France’s quickest goal of the Qatar World Cup in the fifth minute of the match. Extending their lead in the second half, substitute Randal Kolo Muani hit the second goal for France ending Morocco’s fairy tale at the biggest stage.

However, Achraf Hakimi’s side exceeded all expectations in Qatar. Morocco outperformed second-ranked Belgium before eliminating European giants Spain and Portugal in the knockout phase of the FIFA World Cup.

Both France and Argentina will be looking to add the 3rd star to their shirt, with France appearing in the fourth World Cup final in the last seven editions of the tournament. Argentina will seek to make up for the 2014 failure when they lost to Germany in extra time.
