Legendary Indian cricket team and Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni turned 41 on Thursday and social media has gone into a frenzy with wishes for the cricketer. Over the years, the former India skipper has created a special place in everyone’s heart with his performance and behaviour, which have resulted in a plethora of birthday wishes pouring in for him.

Popularly known as ‘Thala’ among the CSK faithful, Dhoni led the team to four Indian Premier League (IPL) trophies during his time with the franchise. Chennai has been the second-most  successful side in the IPL and all four of their trophies have come under the stewardship of Dhoni.

And for that reason, the Dhoni admirers did not hold back with their birthday wishes on Thursday and the players also joined the bandwagon. The CSK Twitter handles posted a video wishing their captain on his special day.

West Indies star Dwayne Bravo was the primary proponent of the video, where he sang a song to wish Dhoni a happy birthday. The all-rounder’s song had the achievements of Dhoni inside, which brought back many memories for the fans and pundits alike.

Apart from Bravo, Robin Uthappa, Ambati Rayudu, Moeen Ali, Dwayne Pretorius, Chris Jordan, Ruturaj Gaikwad and a handful of starlets also wished the Chennai captain.

The Chennai Super Kings also posted a dedicated video to wish Captain Cool for his special day, showing what Dhoni means to the city.

The 41-year-old is currently in London, where he was photographed with Sunil Gavaskar during Rafael Nadal’s match against Taylor Fritz on Wednesday at the Centre Court of the All England Club.

The last season of the IPL saw then captain Ravindra Jadeja returning the captainship role to Dhoni once again during mid-season. Dhoni, who led CSK for more than a decade, accepted the role but failed to steer them to the playoffs once again.

Apart from winning the IPL four times, MS Dhoni is also the seventh highest scorer in the history of the IPL.
