Australia off-spinner Nathan Lyon on Monday downplayed media reports that Indian players were reluctant to travel to Brisbane for the fourth Test. Lyon said that they are 100% sure that Brisbane would host the fourth Test of the India vs Australia series. “100% planning on going to Brisbane and sticking with plan A,” Lyon said during a virtual press conference.

The fourth Test is scheduled to start in Brisbane on January 15. There were media reports that the hosts were uncomfortable with the venue in light of the stringent COVID-19 restrictions in place there. The Indian players would be required to undergo another quarantine after arriving in Brisbane. The Indians are not happy at the possibility of going for another quarantine, since they have already served one upon entering Australia, according to Australian media reports.

The series is currently tied 1-1 and the third Test would be played in Sydney from January 7. The Australian offie said that the team is currently focused on winning the third Test.

“We have heard nothing as players, so we have got obviously travel up to Sydney today and get ripping there, and hopefully, get the result that we are after and then straight on playing in Brisbane.”

Australia have got a good record at Brisbane while India are yet to win a Test at the Gabba.
