NBA announced the entire schedule for it’s upcoming season on Wednesday. The 77th NBA regular season begins on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, and ends on Sunday, April 9, 2023. The 2023 NBA Play-In Tournament will take place from Tuesday, April 11 to Friday, April 14, with the 2023 NBA Playoffs beginning on April 15. The first game of the 2023 NBA Finals is set to take place on Thursday, June 1. A total of 1230 games will be played during this time.

The opening day of the season will feature last year’s NBA Champions, Golden State Warriors against the Los Angeles Lakers. Boston Celtics, the finalists of the concluded season, will go toe-to-toe against the Philadelphia 76ers in the other match of the night. Both of these matches will be exclusively broadcasted by the TNT network.

Christmas Day and Martin Luther King Jr day are some of the other important dates that are among the most viewed in a NBA season. This year also ESPN will cover the matches on Christmas Day, which will be headlined by the New York Knicks versus Philadelphia 76ers. 2021 NBA Champions, Milwaukee Bucks will also be playing on this day against the Boston Celtics.

MLK Day matches for the upcoming season, which is going to happen on January 16th, 2023, will see the likes of the Atlanta Hawks going against the Miami Heat and the Phoenix Suns against the Memphis Grizzlies.

5 key matches to look out for in the 2022-23 season: –

1) Los Angeles Lakers vs Golden State Warriors (October 18)

Last year’s champions will kick start their campaign against 17-time NBA Champions, the Lakers at the Oracle Arena where they will also receive their championship rings.

2) Golden State Warriors vs Boston Celtics (December 10)

GSW host the Celtics in the rematch of last year’s NBA finals. The Celtics will look for redemption against the team that prevented them from winning their record 18th NBA Championship. 

3) San Antonio Spurs vs Miami Heat (December 17)

This Year’s NBA Global games will take place in Mexico City where the Spurs will go against Miami Heat. The Heat were in the NBA finals two seasons ago.

4) Memphis Grizzlies vs Golden State Warriors (December 25)

One of the most anticipated games of the season will be at Golden State’s home turf. Ja Morant of The Memphis Grizzlies had earlier taken to social media, urging the league to schedule this match. GSW defeated the Grizzlies in the Western Conference Semi-finals this past season. 

5) Los Angeles Lakers vs Boston Celtics (January 28)

The Lakers and Celtics have been tied for the most number of NBA Championships with 17 titles to their name. The Lakers did not qualify for the Playoffs last season while the Celtics reached the NBA Finals during that time.
