New England Patriots’ quarterback Bailey Zappe entered the field in the second quarter vs the Chicago Bears on Monday Night in Week 7 and instantly impacted the team by being a key contributor to his team scoring two touchdowns under four minutes.

Zappe replaced the returning QB Mac Jones, who was coming off a three-week lay-off following a high ankle sprain in Week 3 against the Baltimore Ravens, for the Patriots first drive of the second quarter. This was after Jones had thrown an interception earlier in the first quarter.

It was no surprise that Head Coach Bill Belichick put Zappe into the field thereafter.

The play was then looked up through multiple angles to confirm whether Meyers’ knees were fully on the ground before putting the ball into the endzone or not. It was later deemed a scoring play by the referees.

In the next Patriots drive, running back Rhamondre Stevenson gave the Patriots their first lead of the game. It was a second-and-goal play for the team when Zappe gave the ball to the 24-year-old Stevenson who ran four yards into the Bears Endzone to give the Patriots a13-10 lead.
