AFC East rivals New England Patriots and Buffalo Bills played their first game against each other of the 2022 NFL season in Week 13’s Thursday Night Football clash at the Gillette Stadium, home of the Patriots.

The game was won by the Bills, 24-10, as QB Josh Allen threw two touchdown passes for 223 yards, completing 22 out of his 33 yards.

The victory improves the Bills’ record to 9-3 and they are now provisionally on the top of the division as Miami Dolphins have a game in hand. The Patriots, on the other hand, fall to 6-6 and remain dead last in the group.

WR Stefon Diggs and the QB Allen combined for their 10th Td of the season. Diggs is now tied at the top spot along with Las Vegas RaidersDavante Adams, as wide receivers with the most receiving touchdowns this season.

Let’s look at the highlights from the Thursday Night Football fixture:

1) Bills’ running backs outrush Patriots’ Rbs

Buffalo’s RBs totally dominated their opposition’s players in rushing the football. James Cook and Devin Singletary crushed Rhamondre Stevenson. The two of them combined for 27 carries and 115 rushing yards while Stevenson could only manage 1o carries for 54 yards.

2) Allen continues to shine

Josh Allen passed two good passes to increase his tally to 25 touchdown passes in 12 games for the season and is in line to complete his third consecutive season with 30 or more Td passes. He is also on pace to get sacked the most number of times over the last three seasons. He was sacked 26 times in both of the two previous years but his tally has reached 25 in 12 games.

3) Buffalo can win the AFC East

With a rematch against Miami Dolphins coming up in Week 14, the Bills will look to avenge their close defeat from Week 3 and finish the season off in style as they have three of the last five games of the season at home but they would travel to Cincinnati for a difficult Week 17 match-up against the Bengals. The team needs to win at least four more games to secure the division.
