The NFL celebrated Thanksgiving day this week. It was the 102nd iteration of games played on the American holiday and the league managed to schedule some interesting games for the day.

Two teams, Detroit Lions and Dallas Cowboys, are the regular participants on this day. On one end, the Lions were defeated at home by Buffalo Bills whereas on the other hand, the Cowboys secured a 2-0 record against the New York Giants for this season.

In the final game of the night, Minnesota Vikings won against the Bill-Belichick-led New England Patriots.

For the rest of the week, some notable players returned to their respective teams. Arizona Cardinals’ Marquise Brown started the game against the Los Angeles Chargers, after a five-week layoff.

Let’s look at the top wide receivers from Week 12:

1) Justin Jefferson (Minnesota Vikings)

NFL’s second-ranked player in receiving yards, Jefferson had a tremendous game on Thanksgiving Day against the New England Patriots as he caught nine receptions for 139 yards and one touchdown, his third in the last four games.

2) Garrett Wilson (New York Jets)

In new quarterback Mike White’s first game as Jets’ starter, wide receiver helped the 27-year-old- White with a great receiving game. He caught five out of his eight targets for 95 yards and was the recipient of two touchdowns, his firsts since Week 2.

3) Amon-Ra St. Brown (Detroit Lions)

In a Thanksgiving Day matchup against Buffalo Bills, Brown had his third game of receiving over 100 yards. He caught nine passes for 122 yards and also recorded a touchdown in the game.

4) Chris Godwin (Tampa Bay Buccaneers)

The 2020 Super Bowl winner had his second successive game with a touchdown which he scored against the Cleveland Browns. He caught 12 passes for 110 yards, his most this year.

5) Zay Jones (Jacksonville Jaguars)

The Jaguars defeated Baltimore Ravens in a very close game that came down to Justin Tucker missing a 67-yard FG attempt for the Ravens. Zay Jones was terrific on the night where he had his first game of above 100 yards receiving in 2022, catching 11 passes for 145 yards.
