Sunday Night Football finished with Tampa Bay Buccaneers beating the Dallas Cowboys 19-3 at the AT&T Stadium. 

The game night saw the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Arizona Cardinals, Minnesota Vikings stomp over the Green Bay Packers, Miami Dolphins defeat the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles pip the Detroit Lions amoung other results.

Here are the highlights of Sunday Night Football:

1) Two overtime games: 

Indianapolis Colts vs Houston Texans and Cincinnati Bengals vs Pittsburgh Steelers went to overtime on Sunday. 

Quarterback Matt Ryan, on his Colts debut, rallied them in the fourth quarter to force overtime against the Texans. But neither team could score on two overtime possessions each and the game ended in a 20-20 tie.

WR Ja’Marr Chase’s touchdown catch from QB Joe Burrow tied Bengals’ game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, Chris Boswell kicked a 53-yard field goal as time expired in overtime and the Steelers won 23-20.

2) Kickers miss out: 

Kickers missed opportunities to win overtime games on Sunday night.

Evan McPhearson of the Cincinnati Bengals kicked for the extra-point 29-yard field goal, which was blocked Pittsburgh Steelers. Colts’ Rodrigo Blankenship missed against Houston Texans and Chris Boswell of the Steelers couldn’t land his shot vs Bengals.

3) Return of the injured players:

Some injured stars returned for their teams on Sunday. Saquon Barkley, after missing some time in the 2021 season, had a 68 yard run for a touchdown against the Tennessee Titans . 

Christian McCaffery, who played 10 games in the last two seasons, inspired the Carolina Panthers to a 26-24 win against the Cleveland Browns. 

Michael Thomas scored two TDS and helped the New Orleans Saints beat Atlanta Falcons. 

4) Mixed day for Joe Burrow: 

Joe Burrow started off the game on a low note. The Cincinnati QB’s first pass of the season was intercepted. He had four interceptions – a career worst – and was sacked seven times.

However, the 25-year-old finished the game vs Pittsburgh Steelers with 338 passing yards and two touchdowns. He also had six carries and 47 rushing yards. 

“It’s frustrating,” Burrow said. “We came back in the second half. We finished strong. Give them credit. They had a good plan.”

5) Aaron Rodgers struggles without Devante Adams:

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers struggled in his first game without WR Davante Adams. The 2021 MVP was intercepted once, as his team lost 7-23 against the Minnesota Vikings. 

Rodgers threw for 195 yards, no touchdowns, one interception and a passer rating of 67.6.
