The Los Angeles Chargers hosted the Denver Broncos in Monday Night Football at SoFi Stadium on October 17. While in-game action made the headlines, several fans pointed out the lack of support for the hosts at SoFi stadium against the Broncos in the final game of Week 6 of the 2022 NFL season.

“The Chargers to move back to San Diego. You have no home field advantage, your guard has to tap the center at home for the snap crazy. #DENvsLAC,” one user tweeted.

Another user pointed out the empty seats in the stands against the Broncos, saying the Chargers need to be ‘charged’ for leaving San Diego for Los Angeles.

“Lotta empty seats and a lot of orange gear in Los Angeles tonight. The Federales should charge the Chargers for leaving San Diego. What a crime. #NFL #MNF #DENvsLAC,” a tweet read.

The Chargers shifted base from San Diego to Los Angeles in 2017 and were rebranded as the Los Angeles Chargers. San Diego was home to the chargers for more than 50 years between 1961-2016, however, they moved bases to Los Angeles in 2017, where they played in the 1960 season.

However, the decision was not taken kindly by the fans at the time and they have voiced their opinion against the decision time and again, which was once again seen during the Chargers’ Week 6 game against the Denver Broncos on October 17.

Chargers fans have urged the team to move back to San Diego many times previously and former Minnesota Rep. John Kriesel was one of them who shared his opinion on Twitter saying the Chargers should be playing from San Diego instead of Los Angeles.

“The Chargers should still be in San Diego,” the 41-year-old politician wrote on Twitter.

There have been reports that the Chargers left San Diego for Los Angeles in search of more revenue and a new stadium. According to some reports, Dean Spanos, the owner of the Chargers, wanted the city to build a new stadium, which did not happen and it resulted in the team moving to Los Angeles where they play from the SoFi stadium now.
