In a nail-biting finish to one of the most anticipated matches of Week 6, quarterback Dak Prescott threw a 35-yard touchdown pass to CeeDee Lamb in overtime, and the Dallas Cowboys survived a wild finish to beat New England 35-29 on Sunday, their first win over Bill Belichick‘s Patriots.

Dallas hadn’t won at New England since 1987 and was 0-5 against Belichick. The Cowboys (5-1) have won five straight, their longest winning streak since 2016.

The Cowboys lead 17-14 going into the fourth quarter, and that’s when the games started to become interesting. In the quarter, the teams swapped five goals, three of which came in the closing 2 1/2 minutes.

Jones connected with Kendrick Bourne for a 75-yard touchdown on the next play from scrimmage. For the 2-point conversion, Jones connected with Jakobi Meyers.

However, Prescott led the Cowboys on a 40-yard drive that ended in a 49-yard field goal by Greg Zuerlein, sending the game to overtime.

This is the sixth straight week with at least one overtime game and the 10th total to be decided after regulation time. There were also two OT games in Weeks 1, 4 and 5.
