After being down 14-17 in the third quarter, Los Angeles Chargers (2-1) scripted a comeback 30-24 victory in their game at Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. The Chiefs now have two back-to-back losses after their defeat against the Baltimore Ravens last week.
Coming out after the first half, the Patrick Mahomes-led side looked to have found their mojo after they turned a 3-14 deficit to a 14-17 advantage by the third quarter.
The Chargers had a chance to beat their AFC West rivals thanks to a late Mahomes interception. The Chargers offence, led by Justin Herbert, performed admirably. Los Angeles scored a go-ahead touchdown late in the fourth quarter after converting on fourth-and-nine courtesy to a pass interference call.

The Chargers only gave Mahomes 32 seconds to work with, but it wasn’t enough. Los Angeles’ defence, which had made several key plays during the day, got one more stop to secure the victory and move to 2-1. They overcame their own mistakes and took advantage of Chiefs errors to pull off the road shock and lower the Chiefs to 1-2.
Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams ran for two touchdowns and covered 122 yards.
Meanwhile, the Chiefs have turned the ball over on each of their first three possessions against the Los Angeles Chargers, and five of their last six going back to last Sunday night’s loss in Baltimore.

That includes a fumble by Clyde Edwards-Helaire that prevented Kansas City from kicking a potential winning field goal against the Ravens.
Edwards-Helaire had another fumble against the Chargers. The Chiefs also got a pass from Patrick Mahomes intercepted when it bounced off Marcus Kemp and was caught by the Chargers’ Asante Samuel Jr., and Demarcus Robinson coughed up the ball when he hauled in reception to end another drive.
