DeVonta Smith, wide receiver of the Philadelphia Eagles, scored a touchdown on his birthday, against the Washington Commanders on Monday. The two sides lock horns at the Lincoln Financial Field in Week 10.

Smith became the first player in NFL history to score a touchdown on their birthday in back-to-back seasons.

In the opening drive of the fourth quarter for the home team, QB Jalen Hurts passed the ball for 11 yards to Smith who then went on to spin from an incoming Commanders’ defender into the endzone.

This was his third TD of the year. He has received 40 receptions for a total of 442 yards this season.

On his 23rd Birthday last season, the player had four receptions for 66 yards along with two touchdowns when the team competed against the Denver Broncos, The Eagles won that game 30-13.

Smith entered the stadium wearing a flashy brown three-piece suit along with a Fedora hat. His outfit was greatly appreciated on Twitter with many calling it, “He means business today.”

The Philadelphia Eagles were beaten at home on Monday Night by the Commanders who avenged a defeat at the hands of the same opponents from Week 3 by a score of 21-32. The visitors became the first team in the NFL this season to defeat the Eagles. Up until Week 10, the team had an 8-0 record and was on pace to go undefeated but today’s defeat will give the team a hard reality check as to the areas where the team can improve.

Even though QB Taylor Heinicke did not throw a TD but threw an interception, he had a decent game, passing for 211 yards and completing 17 out of the 29 throws.

RBs Brian Robinson Jr and Antonio Gibson were crucial in the away win for the Commanders.
