Nikola Jokic was on fire in the first half of the NBA Finals Game 1 against the Miami Heat on Thursday. The Serbian became the first player in the last 25 seasons to have 10 assists in one half in their Finals debut.

The Nuggets led Miami at half-time at the Ball Arena in Denver. Jokic is married to Natalija Macesic and has a daughter named Ognjena.

Who is Nikola Jokic’s wife?

Nikola Jokic’s wife is Natalija Jokic. The couple has been married since October 2020, but allegedly, the pair have been with each other since their teenage years. Both of them hail from Sombor, Serbia, a small city of about 47,000 people in the northwestern part of the country Nikola and Natalija are also proud parents of a daughter named Ognjena.

2013 saw Natalija relocate to the United States to play volleyball at Seminole State College in Oklahoma while Nikola continued to play basketball in Serbia. The former setter spent two seasons at Seminole State.

Natalija left Seminole State and her volleyball career to follow Nikola when he relocated to Denver to play for the Nuggets in 2015 and ever since, she has been cheering on the two-time NBA MVP from the stands. According to a post she made on Instagram, she graduated from the Metropolitan State University of Denver in 2018.

Now, Natalija and their daughter are usually spotted at Nikola’s games. Natalija posted a picture on her Instagram of daughter Ognjena holding Nikola’s game ball from his 100th triple-double in March 2023, a feat that has only been accomplished by five other players in NBA history.

Natalija and Ognjena were also there to support Nikola when he broke yet another NBA record that April and Ognjena was spotted wearing a jacket with Jokic’s name and number on the back in an Instagram story.

“I think all of us who have a wife and kids should be happy with the persons we have beside us,” he told Serbia’s Arena TV in January 2023. “When you have a normal life, it lifts you up and only helps you.”
