Actor Alec Baldwin says “there are no words to convey my shock and sadness” over the fatal shooting of Halyna Hutchins on a film set, according to tweets from the Hilaria and Alec Baldwin Foundation.

The 63-year-old actor said that he was “fully cooperating” with the law enforcement authorities investigating Thursday’s incident.

The two-part tweet read, “There are no words to convey my shock and sadness regarding the tragic accident that took the life of Halyna Hutchins, a wife, mother and deeply admired colleague of ours. I’m fully cooperating with the police investigation to address how this tragedy occurred.”

Baldwin added, “I am in touch with her husband, offering my support to him and his family. My heart is broken for her husband, their son, and all who knew and loved Halyna.”

The incident, which happened on the movie sets of ‘Rust’, was reported around 1:50 pm on Thursday. In addition to the death of Halyna Hutchins, the film’s director Joel Souza, who is 48 years old, was also injured in the shooting.

So far, the Sheriff’s office in Santa Fe County says that the investigation “remains open and active” and added that no charges have been pressed against Baldwin, who reportedly pulled the trigger of the prop gun, according to reports from CNN.

The initial reports of the investigations suggest that a scene being filmed for the upcoming flick ‘Rust’ involved the use of a prop gun, according to CNN reports citing statements from law enforcement officials.

“Detectives are investigating how and what type of projectile was discharged”, the statement added. It was not clear if Baldwin was performing at the time of the shooting or how many rounds were fired and little was known about the weapon

Hutchins, 42, was airlifted to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Souza, 48, who was wounded in the collarbone area, was taken by ambulance to a medical center.
