Novak Djokovic, who last week sealed his seventh Wimbledon title, has 21 Grand Slam wins against his name. The Serb needs one more to equal Rafael Nadal’s world record and can achieve the feat at the US Open, if he participates.

All overseas players will need to provide proof of vaccination, as per the US immigration rules, to participate in the US Open. Djokovic recently said that he has no plans of getting vaccinated against the coronavirus.

“I’m not vaccinated and I’m not planning to get vaccinated. So the only good news I can have is them removing the mandated green vaccine card or whatever you call it to enter the United States or exemption,” the World No 7 said.

However, days later, he has dropped a huge hint on social media that he might be at the event afterall. His Wimbledon 2022 opponent Nick Kyrgios reminded Djokovic of the dinner the latter promised after the All England final, to which the Serb said they’ll do it in New York City, where the US Open is held.
